Working with essential oils everyday, I am often entranced with not only their aromatherapy properties, but also their historical significance. What better a way to get in the mood for Valentine's Day and to celebrate our Love and Sensuality line than to reveal some romantic ways these essential oils have been used throughout history and folklore.

The lovely Egyption Queen Cleopatra first made love to Marc Antony on a carpet of rose petals. Cleopatra soaked the sails of her ship in Jasmine and Rose perfume so that the scent of the lovely blend on the seas alerted her lover of her impending arrival, long before her ship could be seen. Antony fell under her spell and in fact was so in love with her, that he killed himself upon hearing a false report that she was dead.

As many of you know, we have a collection of candles that benefit local and international charities called The Charity Flame Collection. We pick a new local charity every 3 months to feature, and 100% of the proceeds from each candle sold under their name goes to benefit that charity.
